The changing need of any product has affected the way we used to design. You cannot take a tool and start filling colors and expect a WOW from you customers/Users.There is a need to analyse User needs, Business needs and System needs. It becomes more complex when you have information hovering on you rhead from different channels but an information architect can be a real hel to avoid the confusion clutter.
